2)       Why did you choose Santa Clara?
I chose Santa Clara because of its academic reputation and the overall environment of the campus. The small campus allows you to connect with a lot of people as well as give you an advantage in the classroom. Its proximity to my home allows me to see my family and friends a lot.

3)       What draws you to baseball?  What makes it appealing to you?  What is special about the college game?

What I always liked about baseball and more specifically pitching was that you were involved in every pitch. Baseball appealed to me since I was little and started with going to baseball games with my dad and playing catch in the parking lots at Candlestick Park. Baseball is arguably the hardest sport to play which is something that also attracted me to the game. What is special about the college game is how much you can learn in such a short time, I was amazed how much I grew in just one year. The bonds that have to be created in order to have a successful team I think are magnified in the college level which is something else that is special.

4)       How has the fall season gone for the team and you personally?
I think the fall season has gone extremely well. As a team we are doing our absolute best to change everything about us in order to have a championship caliber team. There is something new every day that we are learning and while it is challenging we are certainly stepping up to the task and having a blast doing it. Personally I am rediscovering my love for the game and working harder than I ever have before. Finding out that there is so much more that can accomplish and that I can grow so much more as a player and a person.

5)       Who is your favorite guy on the team to compete with?  To compete against?  Why?
I really like competing with Matt Ozanne, he constantly pushes those around them to exert a little extra on every rep and encourages you on a consistent basis. My favorite person to compete against would probably have to be Twig aka Paul Twining. We have been teammates for three years now and there has always been some friendly trash talking at one another. We push each other but have a good time doing so.

6)       Top 5 people, living or dead, to compete against?  In what?

  • Barry Bonds-pitching against him
  • Brandon Bittle – anything
  • Luke  Skywalker – light saber battle
  • Bobby Fischer – chess match
  • Draco Malfoy – who has blonder hair

7)       5 people, living or dead, to have coffee with?

  • Brian Wilson
  • Jessica Biel
  • King Leonidas
  • Jim Carrey
  • Kurt Cobain

8)       What would you do with a billion dollars?
I would take a tour of all the major league baseball stadiums riding from park to park on my custom motorcycle. I would buy my parents their dream house and buy myself a nice house in Lake Tahoe. Then I would just keep the rest of the cash to spend on whatever I needed.

9)       #1 on your Bucket List?
Go skydiving in the wingsuits.

10)   What’s your ideal 1st date?  Who?  What?  Where?
My ideal first date would be going to a nice dinner before going to a giants game with Olivia Wilde.
